President-elect Joe Biden outlined his American Rescue Plan, citing the need for a more robust vaccination program as well as for additional direct payments to American families to help recover the U.S. economy. His plan, expected to cost $1.9 trillion, includes $20 billion for vaccine distribution and $50 billion for expanded testing.
Dr. Amesh Adlja, a senior scholar at the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security, and Pr. Sharon Austin, professor of Political Science at the University of Florida, provide their insights on this plan.
